Scott Heydorn

Scott is a seasoned technology leader with over 13 years of experience driving digital transformation and managing complex technical programs. As the founder of Subarashi LLC, Scott brings extensive expertise in strategic technology consulting, product management, portfolio/program delivery, API development, cloud infrastructure, and Agile methodology to help clients better understand and optimize their development and delivery processes.

What sets Scott apart is his ability to operate at both the strategic and technical level. He has led and mentored engineering teams of 50+ across multiple geographies while remaining hands-on — personally designing system architectures, writing code, building CI/CD pipelines, and debugging production issues alongside his teams. This dual perspective allows him to bridge the gap between executive stakeholders and engineering teams, translating business objectives into concrete technical solutions and ensuring those solutions are delivered with rigor.

Prior to establishing Subarashi LLC, Scott served as a Distinguished Consultant at Modus Create, where he provided executive-level engineering leadership and developed strategic technology roadmaps for enterprise clients. His career includes senior leadership roles at Ellucian, where he directed global engineering teams serving over 2,500 higher education institutions, and at The College Board, where he oversaw major digitization initiatives for AP and SAT programs. In each of these roles, Scott combined team leadership and mentorship with direct technical contribution — building the tools, pipelines, and platforms his teams relied on daily.

Throughout his career, Scott has demonstrated excellence in aligning technology solutions with business objectives, with startups as well as large, established technology firms. His technical expertise spans cloud infrastructure implementations, DevOps optimization, API development, application security, and system architecture — and he continues to practice these skills hands-on rather than from a distance.

Scott proudly served in the United States Navy, where he honed his leadership skills and disciplined approach to problem-solving. His military experience provided a strong foundation in digital communications, logistics, team coordination, and operating under pressure in diverse physical and cultural environments — skills he continues to apply when helping clients navigate complex business challenges and technology implementations.

Scott specializes in helping businesses navigate complex technology transitions, particularly in heterogeneous environments that are dependent upon legacy technology but wish to leverage modern approaches. His consultative approach focuses on understanding each client's unique challenges and developing tailored solutions that drive efficiency and growth.
